Montana

Growing-up in Montana, dirt roads were the norm.  It was said, the Forest Service was the largest builder of roads in the world.  Most people don’t know that Western Montana is predominantly public land, and during the heyday of logging, the Forest Service built roads so timber could be harvested.  In the last 40 years, all that changed.  The timber industry in Montana has dried-up, but the roads are still there.  And when you’re a teenager, I didn’t have to find an excuse to get in my Ford Galaxy and go for a drive with my friends.

The map below is a sampling of some of some of those dirt roads, but not the ones for us. We only go to the best places.

Other tour companies schedule you during peak vacation season.  Not us.  We want to avoid the crazy vacationers that descend on Western Montana during the summer, and the smoke from forest fires that are more common every summer.

Bring the family here https://www.pawsup.com or https://www.cliffranch.com while we take you to our secret nearby gravel rides.

Why don’t you join us for this ride?  It’s not gravel, but one fun ride, and we do it on the fall equinox!  https://www.facebook.com/events/295697987557311/?active_tab=discussion
